What are they? They are natural oils that are extracted from plants. They are usually extracted in a way that keeps the natural integrity of the oil. doTERRA always extracts in this way. Essential oils are the oils that are the plants protection, like our immune system. These oils can cross our cell walls which drugs cannot do. Therefore, they help support immunity, reduced inflammatory response, promote homeostasis, help with stress management and emotional support.
All essential oils are not equal. It is important to know the source and how the essential oils you purchase are extracted and whether or not they have any added fillers or chemicals. A pure essential oils will not have any of these.
Essential oils can be used to put in diffusers to be expressed in the air we breathe. They can be put in bath water. They can be put on your skin. Some need to be put in carrier oils like grapeseed oil as some can have a burning effect and need diluted down. Some can be taken internally, like drops added to water and drank. It’s important to know that NOT ALL brands of essential oils are made to be taken internally. Most of doTERRA oils are made so be used in all of these forms. There are some that cannot be taken internally due to the nature of these oils.
Always, always, always refer to an essential oil source as to which oils must be put in a carrier oil and which ones can be taken internally.
Essential oils have been around for thousands of years. I am happy to teach classes or find someone in your area to teach a class about how essential oils can be used in your daily life.
